Okay so these just may be my all time favorite brownies!! As I have said before I am a lover of spice, not so much that my mouth is on fire, but a definite kick of heat and I am a super happy chick! 🙂

We were planning to head out to a friends birthday party when I remembered we were supposed to bring a snack to share. I just wasn’t in the mood for anything really. I feel as though I have been in a slight rut when it comes to creativity. I know what I like and I stick to it, but it was getting boring. So…longing to step outside the box I was reminded of my favorite chocolate bar (it is chipotle infused chocolate) I thought hmmm, why not try it in a brownie form?!? Instantly my mouth started watering!! 🙂 I went to my pantry to see what I had….hmmm it was looking pretty bare, but as luck would have it I had a box of brownie mix.

Now I love the best homemade brownies like any other person, but sometimes you have got to do what you have got to do!! So i whipped together the mix added some cayenne pepper

when they cooled I topped them with some CoolWhip and cinnamon and drizzled them with some caramel sauce!

When I took my first bite, I was in Heaven!! The rich chocolate and then the kick of the cayenne 🙂 yup Heaven!! But then the cool of the CoolWhip and then another hit of sweet with the cinnamon and caramel! My husband and kids absolutely loved them! I am sure these will be a staple in our house for years to come!! 🙂

I hope that you enjoy them as much as we all do!! 🙂

Here is the Recipe :

Spicy Mexican Brownies

  • 2pkgs. of Hershey’s Brownie mix
  • ingredients according to package for Brownies
  • 1-2tsp. Cayenne pepper
  • Lite CoolWhip
  • Cinnamon
  • Caramel Ice Cream topping

Mix up the Brownie mixes according to the package directions.  Add in the Cayenne pepper to the batter. I tasted the batter to make sure I had the heat level right 🙂 Bake according to the package directions. I baked mine in a sheet pan 🙂  Once they are completely cooled, cut into squares and top with a spoon of CoolWhip and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Then drizzle with the caramel sauce! Then….Eat them!!! making sure to lick all yummy left over bits off of your fingers!! 🙂
