Once I made my Braided Calzone (pizza) and I realized how yummy and EASY it was! I couldn’t wait to try other fillings for it! Buffalo Chicken is one of my all time favorite, well lets face it, if you read my recipes, I love anything with a good kick 🙂 So I decided to come up with a kick butt buffalo chicken filling! 🙂 So this definitely has heat! You are more then welcome to play with the amounts of pepper and hot sauces in this! This particular combo has amazing flavor though 🙂

Buffalo Chicken Braided Calzone

  • 1ball of your favorite pizza dough
  • 2chicken breast (bone in and skin on) cooked and shredded
  • 1-6oz. bottle Louisiana Hot Sauce
  • 2tsp.Cayenne Pepper
  • 1tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 3tsp. Sriracha hot sauce
  • 1/4-1/2 cup bleu cheese dressing of your choice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2garlic gloves pressed
  • non stick cooking spray
  • red pepper flakes to sprinkle on top

Preheat oven to 325F

Spray your pizza stone or sheet pan (I LOVE my Pampered Chef Pizza pan) with nonstick spray

spray your hands with the spray and then spread out your dough to cover your pan. (I have made my own dough, used fresh dough from my favorite pizza shop, used frozen dough and refrigerated Pillsbury pizza dough) so i mean it when I say your choice :) You need the dough to be in a rectangle though…

Salt and pepper your chicken breast and roast in oven on a cookie sheet, until fully cooked through (if you are in a hurry you could definitely buy boneless skinless and just cook them up and then shred the meat)

when the chicken is cooled shred with two forks, place in a large mixing bowl

Add all hot sauces, peppers, garlic and bleu cheese and mix thoroughly!

Spoon the chicken mix over the middle of the dough, mound it high 🙂 Make it about 3-4 inches wide

Now here comes the tricky part, no its really easy , just don’t over think it :)

Take a pair of kitchen scissors or a sharp knife and cut horizontal lines all along each side of the cheese and pepperoni. Making each cut about an inch apart . Try and keep an even number of strips on each side :)

then starting from the bottom on the right side take strip number one and cross it over the cheese and pepperoni till it touches dough, do the same on the bottom left strip. Slowly repeat this until you reach the top.

Gently fold up the ends to slightly seal , to avoid major spilling while baking

spray the top with nonstick cooking spray

Sprinkle to with red pepper flakes

Place in the oven for 20-25 mintues or until the dough turns golden brown

slice and ENJOY!! 🙂 Dip in more Blue cheese if you like 🙂
