Well I am on a new adventure with this one! I found 2 different recipes for Orange Chicken online and decided to combine the 2 to make something that my family would love! Here is what I came up with…

Crock Pot Orange Ginger Chicken

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breast (cut into chunks)
  • 1/3cup all purpose flour
  • Salt & Pepper
  • EVOO
  • 1can frozen orange juice (thawed)
  • 1/2 sweet bell pepper chopped ( I used an orange one bc that’s what I had)
  • 1tsp. balsamic vinegar
  • 3Tbsp. Ketchup
  • 4Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 Serrano pepper finely diced
  • 2tsp. grated fresh ginger

Pour a small amount of EVOO in a saute pan and heat up to medium high heat

coat the chicken in the flour. I added the salt and pepper to the flour. shake off the excess flour off the chicken and place it in the hot pan.

Brown the chicken, then add to the bottom of the crock pot. The chicken doesn’t have to be fully cooked before adding to the crock, just browned.

In a bowl combine the orange juice, vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar until well mixed.

add the chopped peppers and grated ginger to the chicken.

pour the sauce over top of all the chicken and stir to well incorporate.

Cook on low for 5-6hrs or low for 2-3hrs.

Serve over Buttered Rice with a side of steamed broccoli 🙂
